“Teachers who love teaching…teach children to love learning.”

This is definitely true of Mrs. Seaman from Thornton Elementary who was selected as Pierson Orthodontics Teacher of the Year!

Dr. Pierson and his wife, Jill, surprised Mrs. Seaman on Friday with a visit to her classroom to award her with her gift.  As they entered the room they found Mrs. Seaman in a huddle with several kindergarten children hovering over an aquarium full of dirt.  Each of the children was so intent on what they were looking at they didn’t even know anyone had entered the room!

She was so excited and honored to hear that Brette Gertonson had nominated her to be Pierson Orthodontics Teacher of the Year.  Brette read to Mrs. Seaman what she had written about her and why she thought she should have this honor.  It brought a huge smile to her face and her students loved hearing about their amazing teacher!

She was even more excited to hear that as Pierson Orthodontics Teacher of the Year she would receive $100!  As our patients know, the teacher who gets selected receives $100 and the person who nominates the winning teacher also receives $100.  Brette decided that Mrs. Seaman deserved to have her $100 too!  What a great gift!  Thanks for your BIG HEART Brette!  You definitely gave Mrs. Seaman “Something To Smile About”!
